5 Things: Storytelling at Sycamore and Jewelry Making at Brooklyn ARTery

Information and events you won't want to miss in Ditmas Park and beyond.

 

1. Hear a good story. Head over to Cortelyou Road for Sycamore Stories: A Night of Literary Madness.  8 p.m. Free.

2. Make something. Learn basic Jewelry Making at Brooklyn ARTery and come home with a pair of your own original cluster earrings or wrapped hoops. Bring your own beads or buy them there before class. 6 p.m. $35 plus $5 materials fee.

3. Spread the love. Don’t miss Women Love the World Fest. This three-day festival and fundraiser, held at LaunchPad Brooklyn (721 Franklin Ave), will celebrate women artist-activists and their contributions to bettering our world community. The festival, co-curated by Caits Meissner, Karla Rodriguez and Lehna Huie, will feature a visual art exhibition, art for social change panel, short film screenings, live music, poetry and on-site activism engagement.

4. Stomp to some music. Bring your kid to Spoke The Hub (748 Union Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues) at 10 a.m. for Free City Stomp Music Trial ClassServing children ages 6 months to 4 years, City Stomp was nominated as one of the city's top music programs by Nick Jr. and GoCityKids. Enjoy a free trial before you sign up for a series of 10 weekly classes beginning April 6 for $215, which includes the professionally produced Orange Line City Stomp CD.
