Sahook said she, along with her partner Boonnum Chongeon, saw that Ditmas Park was in need of a restaurant to bolster nightlife, and settling into the neighborhood has been going well. "When I first came to the neighborhood and saw there was no restaurant open at night I was like how can that happen?" she said.
And though business has been booming since the business first opened its doors in January, Sahook said that since Zagat mentioned Am Thai in its guide, the restaurant has never been busier. "A lot more people have been coming in," she said. "I'm glad people like it."
