- A self-taught historian and a sociologist came together to reconstruct the African-American history of Brooklyn — including in Flatbush — and to “dispel some myths and stereotypes about Black people" along the way, by collecting and analyzing a collection of pictures from the early 20th century. - A new report found that almost 100,000 NYC public school students are homeless — or close to 1 in 10 — the vast majority of whom are Black or Hispanic. As Councilwoman Elect Rita Joseph pointed out on Twitter that figure is 1 in 8 in Flatbush. "We can’t keep acting like this is normal," she said. (The City)
- Police are investigating a shooting on Monday morning that left a 36-year-old man in Brownsville severely injured. (AM New York)
