4-Year-Old Found Dead In Bk Courtyard; Brother In Custody: NYPD
Shimron Smith's body was found Saturday morning.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 4-year-old boy was found dead in the courtyard of a Brooklyn apartment building early Saturday morning, according to the NYPD.
The boy's 20-year-old brother has been taken into custody, the NYPD said. The brother, Shawn J. Smith, is charged with second-degree murder.
Police responded to a 911 call for an unconscious child outside the 2400 block of Nostrand Avenue around 3:30 a.m. EMS responding the scene found the boy, 4-year-old Shimron Smith, unconscious and unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
