Pedestrian Killed in Car Crash on Flatbush Ave: Police
Aerial footage showed the vehicle completely overturned on the sidewalk.

A major car wreck along a commercial stretch of Flatbush Avenue near Albemarle Road in Flatbush, Brooklyn, early Monday evening left one 50-year-old male pedestrian dead, according to the NYPD.
Police described the 5:30 p.m. crash in a statement sent o Patch.
“Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a black Nissan Sentra on the sidewalk, overturned, and a pedestrian unconscious and unresponsive. A preliminary investigation determined that the Nissan Sentra, driven by a 58-year-old male, was traveling south bound on Flatbush Avenue when it mounted the sidewalk and struck the pedestrian, a 50-year-old male. The pedestrian was removed to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. The driver of the auto and his 3-year-old male passenger were also removed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department’s Collision Investigation Squad.”
Traffic was delayed and public buses were rerouted along Flatbush as emergency crews dealt with the wreckage.
Aerial footage of the crash site showed the vehicle belly-up on the sidewalk.
In the past week alone, 11 pedestrians have been killed by cars in New York City.
