NYPD Officer Stabbed in Brooklyn Apartment, Police Say
An "emotionally disturbed person" stabbed a police lieutenant in the arm Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

UPDATE, 5 p.m.: The injured lieutenant has been identified by the New York Daily News as Wojciech Niebrzydowski, a 15-year veteran of the department. Niebrzydowski “was responding to 911 calls about an out-of-control woman” in an East 18th Street apartment, the Daily News reported, the woman “plunged a kitchen knife into his left forearm.”

DITMAS PARK, BROOKLYN — A police lieutenant with the NYPD was stabbed in the arm by an ”emotionally disturbed person” in a Ditmas Park apartment building late Monday morning, according to the NYPD.
The stabbing allegedly occurred around 11:11 a.m. on the fourth floor of 145 East 18th St.
A police spokesman told Patch that the stabbing suspect was taken into custody immediately afterward.
The lieutenant, meanwhile, was transported to Kings County Hospital in nearby Prospect Lefferts-Gardens in stable condition, the spokesman said. His wounds are believed to be non-life-threatening.
