Brooklyn ARTery Finds Permanent Home on Cortelyou Rd.

Also: Brooklyn ARTery classes will be offered at Lark Cafe, including this Tuesday's "Drink and Draw" class for adults from 7-9 p.m.

 

The Brooklyn ARTery, the artistic endeavor of Ditmas Parker Susan Siegel, is moving into a permanent location in a Cortelyou Rd. storefront, and will begin holding classes at local businesses Tuesday.

Ditmas Park will soon have an additional store with the opening of a Brooklyn ARTery pop-up holiday gift shop at 1027 Cortelyou Rd.

"We'll sell one of a kind merchandise that for the first time you won't have to leave the neighborhood to find," Siegel said. "Home decor, pottery, candles, clock, lamps-- unique and beautiful things."

She said the shop will operational by or before Nov. 1. "The fact that I can be working in my neighborhood and be doing what I love is great," Siegel said.

Siegel also said a series of Brooklyn ARTery classes will be offered at Lark Cafe, including this Tuesday's "Drink and Draw" class for adults from 7-9 p.m. for $35.  

Instructor Amy Digi from Art Student's League will guide artists that are 21 and older in an evening of life drawing from a live model. All levels of expertise are welcome, and free beer will be served with the class.

Additional food and drink will be available to purchase. Students should bring their own paper and drawing materials, and limited supplies will be available for drop-ins. Register at Brooklyn ARTery's website
