  1. 130 children from across Brooklyn came to Barkley Center for a basketball clinic with player James Harden. The clinic is part of the Brooklyn Nets Basketball Academy which "aims to grow the game on a grassroots level throughout Brooklyn and beyond." (BK Reader)
  2. The teenager shot in the back of the head in East Flatbush on Saturday is now in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. (Oakland News Now)
  3. A new ice cream flavor in a Prospect Heights ice cream shop will raise money for racial justice nonprofits around Brooklyn. The flavor, which is meant to represent diversity, is malted vanilla with chocolate cheesecake and rainbow sprinkles. (NYC Patch)
  4. Robert Brennan formerly became the Bishop of Brooklyn on Tuesday, following Bishop DiMarzio who was accused of child sexual abuse in 2019. Brennan, a Bronx native who's coming to Brooklyn by way of Ohio, said he's planning on focusing on listening to survivors and taking sexual abuse seriously, but some are skeptical there will be any meaningful change. There are 1.3 millions Catholics in Brooklyn and Queens. (Brooklyn Paper)
  5. New York City opened the first two supervised injection sites in the United States on Tuesday, in an effort to fight opioid overdoses. But the two centers are in Upper Manhattan, far away from Brooklyn. (NYC Patch)
