Brooklyn Thief Takes Selfie With Stolen Phone: NYPD
NYPD detectives released the photo after it automatically uploaded to the victim's Google account.

The NYPD released a suave selfie to the media Saturday that police claim was snapped by a Brooklyn phone thief onto a stolen Galaxy S3 — then automatically uploaded to the cloud.
The selfie was ”obtained from the victim’s Google account... after the suspect used the phone to take a photo of himself,” police said.
Here are the details of the Ditmas Park-area theft, according to the NYPD:

“On Oct. 24, 2015, at 5:45 a.m., the victim, a 36-year-old male, was texting on his Galaxy S3 while aboard a southbound Q train. As the train entered the Beverley Road station the suspect snatched the phone from his hand and fled the train when the doors opened.“
