- The New York City council passed a bill yesterday allowing immigrants who aren't citizens to vote in municipal (city-level) elections. This could have the biggest impact in heavily-immigrant neighborhoods like Little Haiti and Little Caribbean. (NYC Patch)
- A year after achieving a historic designation, a street of pristine row houses in East Flatbush along 25th Street between Clarendon Road and Avenue D celebrated getting its official marker. The houses date back to the beginning of the 20th century and are built in a Renaissance Revival style. (Brooklyn Paper)
- Developers filed permits to build a 74-foot story building with 41 units at 333 Linden Boulevard in Flatbush. (New York YIMBY)
- New York Attorney General Letitia James dropped out of the race for governor Thursday, after consistently lagging behind Governor Kathy Hochul in polls. Public advocate Jumaane Williams and Rep. Tom Suozzi are still in the running, and maybe even Bill de Blasio. Only minutes after the announcement, Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn released a statement endorsing Hochul. (NYC Patch)
- A bust of George Floyd's head that was vandalized while on display in Flatbush is going up for auction, starting at $90,000. Procedes will go towards organizations bettering police and community relations. (Brooklyn Paper)
- New York State announced a new $539 million fund to help support low-income homeowners, with fully-forgivable loans of up to $50,000. Flatbush Rep. Yvette Clarke said the fund would help with "debilitating bills like mortgage payments and property taxes." (BK Reader)
