- It's almost Thanksgiving, which means it's getting to be turkey season across Brooklyn. Reportedly 1 in 5 New Yorkers are food insecure. So many nonprofits are giving out turkeys around the city that one in Flatbush even resorted to giving out parts instead of whole birds. (Brooklyn Paper)
