1. Protestors marched through Lower Manhattan this weekend, calling for an end to winter evictions. They rallied in front of the state's housing courts and assembly offices, and were joined by the Flatbush Tenants Association. Activists told the story of 85 year old Joy Pearl Noel, who died after being evicted from her Flatbush home of 20 years. (AMNY)
2. Advocates marched over the weekend demanding a return to tuition-free education at New York City public colleges, known as "CUNYs," asking lawmakers in Albany to pass the "New Deal For CUNY" legislation. (Gothamist)
