1. New York City announced Wednesday it’s giving $1.5 million to help newly arrived Haitian immigrants resettle. The funding will go to community-based-organizations in the Haitian community, a lot of them in Flatbush, and will help with immigrant legal services such as accessing TPS. (Brooklyn Reader)
2. Stay tuned for 'Flatbush,' a true-crime film set in 1990s Flatbush, that will tell the story of how the neighborhood's Haitian community rose above xenophobia and prejudice while racism was on the rise "and thrived above all odds." (eurweb.com)
3. Eudes Pierre, a 26-year-old Crown Heights resident, was shot 10 times by police on Tuesday. He later died. The NYPD describes the death as "suicide by cop," but the family disagrees with that claim. (Gothamist)
