Free Back-To-School Giveaway This Saturday in East Flatbush

A school supply giveaway will take place on Saturday in East Flatbush's Paerdegat Park. Music, food, and performances are scheduled, too.

EAST FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A free back-to-school giveaway will take place this Saturday in East Flatbush's Paerdegat Park, located at the intersection of Farragut Road and Albany Avenue.

The event, which runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., is being sponsored by State Senator Kevin Parker, whose district includes most of East Flatbush.

According to Parker's staff, one backpack will be handed out to each child, filled with pens, pencils, notebooks, and loose-leaf paper. The even twill also feature free food, music, a Zumba class courtesy of the YMCA, cultural performances, and information about youth programs and college preparedness.
