Get Out! The Flatbush Frolic and More in Ditmas Park This Weekend
Bike ridges, pig roast and a frolic all hit the neighborhood this weekend.

Cyclists, pig roast enthusiasts and those who just like to have fun will have lots to look forward to this weekend. Here's a roundup of what's going on in the neighborhood:
- Join cyclists from the neighborhood Friday at 7 p.m. for the weekly . The purpose is purely for a fun, relaxing group ride through Ditmas Park's streets and there is no planned route; it's decided upon before each ride. Those interested should gather in front of the Cortelyou Library. To be added to the emailing list, click here.
- Bring your compostable food waste to the Flatbush Reformed Church Community Garden at 11 a.m. on Saturday, where The compost site is located behind the church, on East 21st Street between Kenmore Terrace and Church Avenue. For more information about the composting site and what you can compost, visit the Sustainable Flatbush website.
- "The Japanese House" is holding a Fall Preview tour for $15 per person from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Email 131tour@gmail.com with your name and number of visitors. Tours will meet in front of the home located at 131 East 16 Street (Buckingham Road).
- Head to Sycamore Saturday to join Chef Tom Kearney for a 14 hour pig roast. Roasting of the 150lb pig, from Sullivan County Farms, begins Friday evening, and carries on through the night. To cool you off, Lagunitas Brewery of Petaluma, CA will be pouring $5 pints of five of their beers. Food will be available starting at 2 p.m. for $25/plate. Limited availability, so sign up here! Roasting begins at midnight on Friday (no tickets necessary); take a peek!
- , a day filled with food, rides and treats for all ages, will be hitting Ditmas Park this Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Cortelyou Rd. between Ocean and Coney Island Avenues.
