All Souls Bethlehem Church located at 566 East 7 Street is holding it's monthly Free Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the community and is featuring the critically acclaimed film "Whale Rider," winner of the Sundance & Toronto Film Festivals. The movie is PG 13.
Join cyclists from the neighborhood Friday at 7 p.m. for the weekly . The purpose is purely for a fun, relaxing group ride through Ditmas Park's streets and there is no planned route; it's decided upon before each ride. Campus Road Trees is holding its second day stewardship this Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. From 10 a.m.-12 p.m. there will be projects from kids including planting in upcycled containers and leaf rubbings, plus tree bed clean up for kids and adutls. Then, help mulch 13 tree beds with the group and the MillionTrees StewWagon between 12:15-3 p.m. "The purpose of our actions are to beautify the street trees on the western side of campus and in so doing, build ties between the college and wider communities," said organizer Victoria Gagliano. The group will meet on Campus Road between Avenue H and East 21 Street.
Macy's is sponsoring on Saturdays throughout the summer to offer children 15 and under quality fishing instruction and an introduction to aquatic ecology. Children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, will learn about recreational fishing, fishing safety, and fish-friendly techniques. The clinics take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Please note: Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All-day Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. in front of the Cortelyou Library, shop for produce and more year-round at . Vendors sell a range of products, including fruits and vegetables, cheese, eggs, turkey, mushrooms, bread, fish and more.
