Group Preps to Build Tree Guards on Campus Road

Campus Road Trees is looking for volunteers to help complete the work.

Campus Road Trees, a community group committed to caring for street trees along Campus Rd., is looking for volunteers to help build tree guards Fri., Sept. 21 from 12-4 p.m. and Sat., Sept. 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 

Organizer Victoria Gagliano noted this will be a patient type of work and that two people are needed to come on Friday and two people are needed for Saturday as well. She said that the group will be driving posts into the ground and attaching rails, with the goal of completing four tree beds. 

All tools, materials and water will be provided.

The group will meet outside of the Brooklyn College Garden located on Campus Road between Ave. H and East 21 St. Those interested can RSVP by emailing campusroadtrees@gmail.com

If interested parties cannot make it this weekend, Campus Road Trees will also be meeting Sat., Oct. 6 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Fri., Oct. 12 and Sat., Oct. 13., at times to be decided.
