- Flatbush State Senator Kevin Parker is among the politicians facing what could become a competitive primary season this spring. Parker has been criticized by opponents for taking too much money from fossil fuel interest groups. The majority of candidates running against him appear to be further to his left politically. - The East Flatbush campus with Uncommon Schools Kings Collegiate Charter School and Middle School for Art and Philosophy is under investigation due to COVID cases and the potential of an outbreak, according to the Department of Education's interactive map. Meanwhile, two schools that share a building in Bed Stuy have a total of eight classrooms closed due to cases. (msnNOW)
- A racial justice commission approved of three ballot measures that will come before New York City voters next November. The measures include establishing regulatory bodies that insure racial equity is considered in all government business, as well as re-defining the cost of living in the city. (Brooklyn Paper)
