Mathieu Eugene, DOT to Host Cortelyou Rd. Traffic Calming Forum

The future of traffic safety measures on Cortelyou Rd. and what this will mean for residents, businesses, and neighboring roads will be discussed.

 

Councilmember Mathieu Eugene and the Department of Transportation will host a traffic forum Thurs., Oct. 11 to discuss concerns regarding traffic safety and efficiency in Ditmas Park.

Discussion leaders will also focus on the future of traffic safety measures on Cortelyou Road specifically, and talk about what these measures will mean for residents, businesses and neighboring roads.

The forum will be held at 6 p.m. on the first floor of Temple Isaace, located at 1419 Dorchester Rd., at the corner of Dorchester and Marlborough Roads.

At a 70th Precinct Community Council meeting earlier this year, Eugene acknowledged there are problems with traffic in the neighborhood. He said that adding traffic lights in the neighborhood, such as at the intersection of Cortelyou and Westminster roads, might help the situation.
