🌱 No Pesticide Storage In E. Flatbush + Man Indicted For Joy Ride

Here are the top three stories today in Ditmas Park-Flatbush:

1. The city has once and for all backed out of its controversial plan to build a pesticide storage facility in the heart of East Flatbush, after wide-spread community and political opposition. The city now plans to put a storage facility for the department of homeless services in its place. (Brooklyn Paper)
2. Prosecutors indicted the man from Queens who took a school bus on a 'joy ride' across Brooklyn, from East Flatbush to East New York, in early December. (Brooklyn Paper)
3. In 2021 alone, 120 pedestrians, 19 cyclists, 63 motor vehicle occupants and 64 moped, motorcycle or scooter riders were killed in New York City. East Flatbush saw 2,500 vehicle crashes.
