- It's full steam ahead for Governor Kathy Hochul's plan to create an outer borough train line connecting Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Flatbush at Brooklyn College, with Queens. The Governor estimated yesterday that 88,000 people would ride the line each day, and it would take forty minutes to travel its length. (NBC New York)
- Shawn Jeffrey, a local DJ and club promoter at "Dream Wednesdays" in Canarsie died yesterday, after he was shot when a dispute broke out last week. The other three shooting victims were shot in the leg and remain alive. (New York Daily News)
- Councilmember Rita Joseph was appointed to chair the City Council education committee, a role she's particularly fit for given that she was previously a public school teacher. The Teacher's Union is "thrilled" with her appointment. (Gotham Gazette)
