is making a series of changes to its operations to up its game and further its competitive edge in Ditmas Park.
The cafe is creating a coffee lounge in the front of the cafe, which will include low coffee tables and benches for a more relaxed, homey feel, according to Tyson Stagg, Qathra's coffee guru.
Stagg noted the cafe will also begin offering table service on weekends beginning June 16.
"On the weekends, not a whole lot of people camp out with their laptops and it's pretty busy," he said. "This will make us more efficient."
A host person will seat people in appropriate areas to make service more streamlined. Once the table service becomes a main-stay, the cafe will look to implement the service throughout the week.
The cafe has also begun to use Brooklyn's Mast Brothers chocolate in its flavored drinks for a more savory flavor, Stagg said.
Rather than using a syrup, the cafe melts down bars of the chocolate, he continued, adding that smaller bars of the chocolate are for sale. "It's time to up the game," he said.
