Qathra to Open Newkirk Ave. Cafe 'Within Weeks'

Milk and Honey to have a 1930s decor.

Milk and Honey, Qathra's long awaited second coffee shop, will be opening on Newkirk Avenue within a few weeks.

Owner Yasser "Max" Habib told Patch the new cafe will have a completely different look than the Cortelyou Road mainstay.

He wants the decor to be a surprise but said it will have a vintage look from the early 1930s.

Milk and Honey moves into in the former Whisk space on Newkirk and Westminster, which closed in Fall of 2011 after owner Joshua Rubin was murdered.

A second Newkirk Avenue coffee shop, Coffee Mob, should also be opening soon. Last week owner Buck Berk wrote on Facebook that he was painting the walls.
