Street Closures and Traffic Delays in New York Oct. 13, 14

The NYPD announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of Oct. 13, and Oct. 14. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

Brooklyn Bridge Weekend Closure

All Manhattan-bound lanes closed from 11:59 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 12 to 6 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 15.

Brooklyn-bound access to the bridge will be maintained via ramps from Pearl Street & Center Street onto the contra-flow lanes.

There will be additional Brooklyn-bound access to the bridge via the Park Row ramp from Frankfort Street this weekend.

To accommodate detoured traffic, additional lanes will be available for Manhattan-bound motorists on the Manhattan Bridge. 

NYCDOT will install temporary signage and adjust traffic signal timing to assist motorists navigate the detour area, and coordinate with NYPD to deploy Traffic Control Agents at key intersections.

These closures will allow for the restoration of two full traffic lanes on the Brooklyn-bound ramp adjacent to Pace University. 

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

• Depart Caesar’s Bay Parking Lot, 1630 Shore Parkway; Enter east bound Belt Parkway; East on Belt Pkwy into/becomes Laurelton Pkwy to east bound Southern State Pkwy exit 25A, Trooper Barracks. NYPD Hwy will not escort further than Trooper Barracks. Bikes travel to Long Island National Cemetery under State Police escort. 
• 11 a.m.: NYPD HWY escort re-stages at west bound Southern State Pkwy and City Line to escort bikes returning from cemetery to their final destination at VFW POST #1613, 193 3rd Ave, Brooklyn.
