Join cyclists from the neighborhood Friday at 7 p.m. for the weekly . The purpose is purely for a fun, relaxing group ride through Ditmas Park's streets and there is no planned route; it's decided upon before each ride. Birdwatchers of all ages and experience--kids included--can to get a crash-course on how to spot our feathered friends. Learn where in the Park to look, what to look and listen for, and which kinds of approximately 250 bird species you might see at different times of the year.

 

Macy's is sponsoring  on Saturdays throughout the summer to offer children 15 and under quality fishing instruction and an introduction to aquatic ecology. Children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, will learn about recreational fishing, fishing safety, and fish-friendly techniques. The clinics take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Please note: Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. At 2 p.m. on Saturday bring the kids to the statue of Peter and Willy, the beloved Ezra Jack Keats characters, for . Meet at the Imagination Playground.

End Saturday with a bang at Celebrate Brooklyn! This week , and this will mark Massi's first time in the United States since her performance in 2004. Celebrate Brooklyn! is free to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m.

 

This Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. a group of volunteers affiliated with Brooklyn College will be working to beautify the block of Campus Rd near the Hot Spot Tot Lot between East 21 Street and Ocean Avenue. It's a great opportunity to help give some TLC to a block where many of us already gather in hot weather for sprinkler relief. There will be a children’s craft table for coloring, leaf rubbings and recycled art.

 

All-day Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. in front of the Cortelyou Library, shop for produce and more year-round at . Vendors sell a range of products, including fruits and vegetables, cheese, eggs, turkey, mushrooms, bread, fish and more.
