Weekend Planner: Mother's Day Edition

Treat your mom to some fun both days of the Mother's Day weekend in Ditmas Park.

Every Friday, Ditmas Park Patch will give a tip on what's going on for the upcoming weekend. Here's this week's:

With Mother's Day fast approaching, Ditmas Park Patch thought a guide to the weekend (because moms deserve both days!) would be in order. Here's a round-up of goings on in the neighborhood:

Victoria Stennett Realty and the Flatbush YMCA are holding a special Saturday, May 12. The event will include makeovers, massages and workshops from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and all are welcome. For more information and to make reservations, contact the welcome center at (718)469-8100. Space is limited. 

Treat mom to brunch at The Farm on Adderley or Picket Fence, both on Cortelyou Road and winners of this year's Reader's Choice for .

Support Prospect Park by joining CityTri for the Mother's Day Duathlon. On Sunday, May 13 at 7:30 a.m., run and bike the 3.35 mile loop going up gradual inclines, around long curves and on fast flats. Then spend some time enjoying oatmeal during the awards ceremony. 

There are three distances to choose from, including the sprint (2MR/10MB/2MR), classic (3.1MR/14MB/3.1MR) and international (6.2MR/28MB/3.1MR). To join in, head to the Willink Entrance off of Flatbush Avenue. To register, click here

Spend where The Brooklyn Jazz Underground and Connection Works play as part of an ongoing, weekly jazz series, beginning at 8 p.m. Musicians are encouraged to join in on an improvised jam after the performance. A donation of $10 is suggested.
