Celebrate the 46th Anniversary of Guyana's Independence Friday from 5:30-9 p.m. at Brooklyn Borough Hall with Councilman Mathieu Eugene, in conjunction with the Guyana Tri-State Alliance, the Consulate General of the Republic of Guyana, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Guyana to the United Nations. There will be entertainment and a reception to follow. Admission is free.

of independent film 'Death is No Escape' Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. See the movie in its filming location at 847 East 19 Street. In a basement in Brooklyn, the cast of the Paranormal Investigation TV show, "Urban Ghost Hunters" are investigating reports of violent possessions and ghostly sightings. Barely settled in they quickly realize they are in trouble when their own personal demons start to show up. Will this team make it out of lock up? Find out for $10.


Come to the unveiling of five new Uncover Church Avenue murals installed on commercial gates along the Avenue on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Mexican food will be provided by El Acuario and live music from Brooklyn-based DJ NYCTrust.


The Flatbush Studio Artists are holding a day of Art in the Garden Sunday from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Admission is free and the show is mounted in conjunction with the Flatbush Development Corporation's annual Victorian House Tour as well as the OMNI Ensemble 30th Anniversary Gala concert.

The 36th Annual Victorian Flatbush House tour is Sunday from 1-6 p.m. Stroll the streets of Ditmas Park and tour interiors of 10 homes. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour.

 

Chamber music group OMNI Ensemble is holding its 30th Anniversary Gala on Sunday with special guest David Amram. Head to 690 East 18 Street for refreshments at 6 p.m. and music at 7 p.m. A tax-deductible contribution of $25 for students with a valid student I.D., $40 for individuals and $70 for couples is suggested.
