Young Brooklyn Man Murdered in Car-to-Car Shooting
Surveillance video captured the victim, 25-year-old Melvin Pippins, stumbling across the street before he collapsed and died.

Shocking video footage aired by News 12 Brooklyn shows the moment, around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning, that 25-year-old Crown Heights resident Melvin Pippins attempted to stumble from his car and cross the street to safety after being shot in the chest near 165 East 19th Street in Ditmas Park.
Police found Pippins bleeding out at the scene. He was declared dead soon after at Kings County Hospital.
By 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, the NYPD had made no arrests. ”The investigation is ongoing,” police said in a statement.

Pippins friends left messages of shock and sorrow beneath the News 12 Brooklyn story on his murder. “They killed my friend,” Kevin Jones wrote. “RIP Melly,” wrote a couple different commenters.
”RIP Melvin watched u grow from a boy 2 Man,” wrote a woman named Belinda Matthews. ”Love you Condolences to Ur Family.”

Pippins lived on Crown Street in Crown Heights, according to the NYPD.
