2 East Islip Students Named Coca-Cola Scholarship Semifinalists
The students are two out of 1,157 nationwide to earn semifinalist status.

EAST ISLIP, NY — Two East Islip students were recently recognized for their academic leadership achievements.
East Islip High School students Nicole Mazza and Sarah Vasquez were recently named semifinalists in the 2023 Coca-Cola Scholars Program, recognizing their high academic achievement, leadership skills and community service.
Nicole and Sarah were two of just 51 Long Island students and 1,157 nationwide to earn semifinalist status, giving them a chance to earn one of 150 Coca-Cola Scholarships worth $20,000 each to be announced this spring.

According to its website, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school.
"Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities," its description said.
