East Islip was one of just 830 districts across the nation that were awarded this distinction for 2023. Now in its 24th year, NAMM’s Best Communities designation recognizes outstanding efforts in making music education part of a well-rounded education.
“East Islip is a family, and with the support of our teachers, community, board of education, administration and eiMAPs organization, I am not surprised that we were selected for this award," said Wottawa. "The great achievements of our students are only attainable due to all of us working together to provide the best musical experience possible for our students.”
