Alec Baldwin Arrested For Fight Over Village Parking Spot: NYPD

The actor was arrested Friday for punching a man in the face, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Police arrested actor Alec Baldwin after he punched a man over a parking spot outside his West Village home Friday afternoon, officials said.

Baldwin, 60, attempted to drive his black Cadillac Escalade into a parking space in front of 28 E. 10th Street at about 1:30 p.m. He claimed a family member was trying to hold the space for him when a 49-year-old driver of a black Saab station wagon stole the spot, a police spokesman said.

The pair got into an argument that escalated into a shoving match and ended with Baldwin punching the man in the face, police said. Officers arrested the actor and took him into custody at the NYPD's 6th Precinct station house in the Village, police said.

Baldwin was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment with physical contact. He was released on a desk appearance ticket and is due back in court on Nov. 26.

He silently walked past dozens of reporters and ignored their questions Friday evening as he exited the 6th Precinct and jumped into a black Cadillac Escalade.

Baldwin has experienced a career resurgence over the last two years for his impersonation of President Donald Trump, which is routinely featured on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

Asked about Baldwin's arrest Friday, President Trump said: "I wish him luck."

The actor has had run-ins with the law before, including a 2014 arrest in New York City for bicycling the wrong way on a one-way street and a 1995 arrest for allegedly slugging a paparazzi photographer in Los Angeles.

Baldwin was also infamously booted off an American Airlines flight in 2011 after allegedly acting belligerent with a flight attendant who asked him to stop playing "Words with Friends" and put his cellphone away.
