Cyclist Injured In East Village Shooting, Police Say
Police are still searching for the gunman, who ran from the area after the shooting, authorities said.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Police are still hunting for a gunman who shot and injured a cyclist late Sunday night in the East Village, police said.
A 29-year-old man was riding his bike near 185 Avenue C at about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday when he was shot, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch. The gunman, who police have not identified, shot the cyclist once in the right arm and in the torso, the spokeswoman said. The 29-year-old was able to take himself to Bellevue Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries, according to authorities. His wounds do not appear to be life-threatening, police said. Police are still searching for the gunman, who is not believed to have known the cyclist and possibly shot him at random, according to authorities.
