East Village Man Stabbed In Gut On Stanton Street: NYPD
Police have a suspect in custody after the bloody brawl.
EAST VILLAGE, NY — A suspect is in custody after a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the East Village Monday night, police said.
The victim was walking along Stanton Street between Ridge and Pitt streets at 10 p.m. when the suspect approached him and the pair got into a verbal argument. The fight turned violent when the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the abdomen, a police spokesman said.

Medics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital.
The stabber initially fled the scene, but after canvassing the area police arrested the suspect early Tuesday at 12:27 a.m., according to police. The suspect's identity was not immediately available.
