Fire Shutters Luke's Lobster Outpost On East 7th Street
The seafood joint is the second East Village restaurant in a week to close because of a fire.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A fire ripped through the E. Seventh Street building that houses Luke's Lobster Thursday night, forcing the seafood outpost to temporarily shutter, according to the chain.
Firefighters responded to a blaze in a five-story building on E. Seventh Street just off of First Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. More than 60 firefighters from 12 units responded to the flames, which ignited in an apartment on the fifth-floor, a FDNY spokesman said.
No injures were reported, but management with Luke's Lobster expects the eatery to be closed for the next couple of weeks for repairs.
