Grandmother Killed, Taped to Chair in Attack by Grandson
Police found the 82-year-old woman killed, and and another woman bound to a chair in the East Village.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — An 82-year-old grandmother is dead and police have arrested the woman's grandson in connection with the attack.
The NYPD says they responded to a 911 call at 5:35 p.m. on Friday at the Lillian Wald Houses in the East Village and found two women taped and bound to chairs in the apartment. Police say 82-year-old Ella-Nae Biaz, who lived at the home, was unconscious and unresponsive when police arrived. EMS workers pronounced her dead at the scene.
Gary Bias, 23, who lived with his grandmother, has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.

The other woman, 39, had managed to free herself and make the 911 call, police said. She was treated at Bellevue Hospital for minor injuries.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
