Hammer-Wielding Robber Targets East Village Boutique, Say Police
The crook threatened to bash a 29-year-old clerk unless she cough up cash, police said.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A crook armed with a hammer robbed an East Village boutique Thursday after threatening to bash the clerk, police said.
The man walked into Nanako Boutique at about 3:45 p.m. and approached a 29-year-old clerk with the hammer. He threatened the woman and demanded cash, police said.
He took off with the victim's wallet with $160 in cash, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.
Police describe the man as approximately six-feet tall, 200 pounds with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black ski cap, black waist-length jacket, a white sweat shirt, beige pants and blue sneakers with a black backpack.
