Human Skull Found At East Village Construction Site
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that human skull remains were found out the site.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Remains of a human skull were found at an East Village construction site at Second Avenue near Second Street, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told Patch.
The human remains were discovered by workers at 32 Second Avenue on Friday.
The site once housed both a jail and a cemetery, according to a report in the New York Post, which first reported the story. The Anthology Film Archives, which has the world’s largest collection of film, stills and other materials related to avant-garde film, is now headquartered at the building.

According to the Department of Buildings website, the owners filed for a permit in January 2017 to add a fourth floor to the building, add an elevator and enlarge the ground floor.
