Macy's July 4 Fireworks: Best Spots To Watch In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, NY — New York City fireworks are returning for July 4 in 2022 and Patch is here to point you to the best places to watch the celebration in Manhattan.

The Macy's July 4 fireworks will be launched off five barges stationed in the East River around midtown.

The firework show is slated to start at 9:25 p.m.

Here are the best spots to watch, according to Macy's.

• East 42nd Street and FDR Drive: Enter at the security checkpoint at First Avenue and East 42nd Street.
• East 34th Street and FDR Drive: Enter at the security checkpoint at First Avenue and East 34th Street.
• East 23rd Street and FDR Drive: Enter at the security checkpoint at First Avenue and East 23rd Street.

The New York Police Department also recommends the FDR Drive at 18th Street and Avenue C.

Police also recommend drivers avoid the following Manhattan locations between 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Monday.

• FDR Drive between Brooklyn Bridge and East 63rd Street
• Avenue C between East 16th Street and East 20th Street
• East 20th Street between 1st Avenue and Avenue C
• East 23rd Street between 1st Avenue and Avenue C
• East 26th Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• East 30th Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• 30th Street Entrance Ramps
• East 33rd Street between 1st Avenue and 3rd Avenue
• East 34th Street between 2nd Avenue and FDR Drive
• 34th Street Entrance Ramps
• East 37th Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• East 38th Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• East 41st Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• East 42nd Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• 42nd Street Entrance Ramps
• East 48th Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• East 49th Street between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive
• East 53rd Street and FDR Drive
