Online Date Murdered Ex In East Village, Report Says
Vincent Verdi stalked his ex-girlfriend before killing her in the East Village on Wednesday, a report said.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — The man accused of shooting a woman to death in the East Village Wednesday had met her on Match.com and stalked her for months after she ended their relationship, according to court documents and reports.
The woman was shot and killed as she parked her Citi Bike outside her East Village workplace in Astor Place, just outside Cooper Union, around 8 a.m., police said.
The New York Daily News named her as Elizabeth Lee-Herman. Her ex-boyfriend, identified by the News as Vincent Verdi, shot her in the torso, the paper said. Police had not yet officially identified Verdi and Lee-Herman as of Thursday morning.

Court records say that Verdi repeatedly stalked and harassed his ex-girlfriend, following her to the dentist, showing up at the theater where she was on a date with another man and sending her phone calls and emails.
Verdi pursued Lee-Herman so aggressively that she called the police, the records show. Verdi shot himself Wednesday but survived and is currently facing charges for stalking, according to prosecutors. He is next scheduled to appear in court on those charges in December.
Police did not have updates about the case on Thursday morning.
