Teens Steal Woman's Phone From Union Square, Police Say

Two teens worked together to steal a woman's cell phone as she waited for the train, police said.

UNION SQUARE, NY — Police are searching for a teenager who grabbed a cell phone from a subway rider last month, they said on Monday.

Police say that two teens worked together to steal a phone from a 25-year-old woman as she was waiting for a train inside of the Union Square station on Sept. 30. One of the teens grabbed the woman's phone and ran from the station, while the second, a 15-year-old, blocked the woman's path and stopped her from chasing the thief, police said in a statement.

The 15-year-old was arrested and charged with grand larceny. Police are still searching for his companion, and are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating him.
