UWS Man Found Dead With Puncture Wound In The East Village: NYPD
A man was found dead Wednesday at 1st Avenue and East 6th Street. NYPD announced Thursday morning it was investigating it as a homicide.
EAST VILLAGE, NY — Marvin Bellamy, 37, was found dead Wednesday in the East Village with a puncture wound to his chest, according to police.
The Upper West Side resident was discovered unconscious and unresponsive at 7 a.m. at 1st Avenue and East 6th Street, police said. Emergency services rushed him to Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
After not initially making a ruling on the death, NYPD announced Thursday morning it was investigating the incident as a homicide.

Bellamy lived near Columbus Avenue and West 103rd Street, according to NYPD.
A Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
