Woman Sexually Assaulted Near East Village Bar: NYPD

A 24-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted near a bar in Alphabet City early Sunday morning, officials said.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A woman told police she was sexually assaulted in the East Village early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The 24-year-old woman said she was sexually assaulted at about 3:30 a.m. outside of a bar on the corner of Avenue A and 7th Street in Alphabet City, police said.

Emergency responder took the woman to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment. The assault is under investigation by the NYPD's special victims unit.
