'Activist For Responsible Development': Community Leader Jaine Mehring

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Without community leaders, East Hampton wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

How do you know the community leader?

She volunteers, researches town code, is an activist for responsible development, attends public meetings, founded Build in Kind, advocates for housing and other social initiatives

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

Ms. Mehring frequently speaks publicly about issues to improve quality of life for community members.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

She gives a tremendous amount of her personal time researching and speaking publicly on behalf of the community.
