Artisanal Ice Cream Shop To Open At Site Of Former Scoop Du Jour
A La Mode Shoppe, an artisanal ice cream store, will open at the site of the former Scoop Du Jour on Newtown Lane this spring.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Ice cream lovers, rejoice: A new, artisanal ice cream spot, A La Mode Shoppe, is set to open a new location this spring at the site of the former Scoop Du Jour on Newtown Lane in East Hampton.
Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., a New York real estate organization, announced that the business would be opening 35 Newtown Lane between Main Street and Park Place.
The spot will be A La Mode’s second location, in addition to its New York City flagship store located in midtown east, Manhattan Skyline Management Corp. said.

A La Mode Shoppe specializes in handcrafted, small-batch premium ice cream prepared locally in a facility where there is no chance of products coming in contact with nuts, eggs or sesame seeds, a release said. The ice cream is available in an assortment of flavors, with gluten-free and dairy-free options also available. The shop will also feature a boutique carrying infant and children’s apparel, toys and unique gifts, the company said.
“We’re thrilled to bring A La Mode Shoppe to East Hampton. Their ice cream has garnered rave reviews from food critics and customers alike, and it is sure to be one of the village’s featured attractions in 2022,” said Joshua Roth, senior vice president of retail at Manhattan Skyline Management Corp.

“At A La Mode, we pride ourselves on being all-inclusive and mindful of the growing number of people who have allergies today. Our goal is to provide children and adults with the delicious, joyful, and safe experience of sharing ice cream together,” said Sandy Roth, co-founder of A La Mode Shoppe. “This is a perfect location for our first venture outside of New York City.”
Scoop Du Jour shuttered in December, 2020, and owners said the decision was directly related to the coronavirus.
"To the wonderful community of East Hampton," owners Lori and George Chavez said on Facebook. "It is with sadness we announce, after 30 years of doing business, Scoop Du Jour will be closing its doors."
