Bomb Threat At LI School Includes Demand For Cash: PD

The email said there were also bombs in every NY school and demanded officials deliver cash to an address in northern New York, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A bomb scare led to the evacuation of the Amagansett elementary school Wednesday morning, police said.

According to East Hampton town police, at 8:51 a.m., Amagansett School District officials received an email from an anonymous source, stating that several bombs had been placed in the school, "as well as in every school in New York."

The email also included a demand for cash, to be dropped at an address in northern New York, police said.

School officials notified East Hampton town police; the school building was evacuated, police said.

A search by law enforcement found nothing suspicious and an "all clear" was declared by police at 10:55 a.m., police said.

East Hampton town police are working closely with Suffolk County and New York State police on the ongoing investigation, police said.

The incident followed a bomb threat that led to the evacuation of all Southampton school buildings Monday, police said.
