AMAGANSETT, NY — A longtime East End staple, Brent's General Store has sold, according to the Compass commercial real estate team of Hal Zwick and Jeff Sztorc.

The deli and catering business in Amagansett, located on the corner of Route 27 and Cross Highway, has been a mainstay for 35 years. The 2,000 square foot store, which has commercial kitchen space, has long been a "go-to spot", known for being open early and closing late for locals, tourists, and tradesman, Zwick and Sztorc said.

Sztorc told Patch Friday that while the names of the buyers as well as the final sale price — the business was initially listed at $1.1 million — have not been disclosed, the business "is still going to be a deli, something for year-round people."

The deli has long been known for its sandwiches and prepared foods, as well as a wide variety of pantry necessities and groceries. Brent’s also sells beer, tobacco products, and lottery tickets, both said.

"It was truly rewarding to help pass the torch to the next generation who will be operating this iconic business. We were able to work closely with both the buyer and seller to reach an understanding. The nature of this business will remain to be of great service to the community in the years to come! A true staple of the Hamptons," Sztorc said.
