Crowds, Complaints More Consistent at Indian Wells Beach

East Hampton Town Councilwoman Sylvia Overby, the board's liaison to the hamlet of Amagansett, has been receiving several calls so far this summer - and more consistently than in previous years - about raucous crowds at , according to an article on 27East.com.

The article estimates crowds ranging from 300 to 400, with alcohol in tow, are showing up on weekends, reportedly prompting chief lifeguard John Ryan Jr. to call the beach parties "appalling." Though Ryan said enforcement has stepped up in recent weeks, according to the article.

Guest of a Guest posted in mid-June a post titled, "So What's Really Going Down at Indian Wells Beach?"

According to that post, "Most partiers on the beach have barely even given their hangover a chance to settle in before cracking open a cold one and beginning the drinking festivities of yet another day."
