Don't Forget: Traffic Delays During Weekend Races

This weekend, traffic in Springs, Amaganset and Montauk may be a bit heavier than usual. 

On Saturday, the seventh annual Hamptons Marathon and Half-Marathon, in addition to a 5K, will be held in Springs and Amagansett, while the MightyMan Sprint Distance will be held in Montauk. On Sunday, the MightMan continues with the Olympic Distance and Iron-Man Distance races. 

It is the third year in a row that the events are being held on the same weekend, and East Hampton Town police are warning motorists to expect delays.

"We're hoping people will be understanding," East Hampton Town Police Lt. Chris Hatch said on Tuesday.
