  1. Dan's Papers provides dining options at several Hamptons and North Fork restaurants for Passover and Easter 2022. Enjoy East End dining this holiday. (Dan's Papers)
  2. In March, drug cartel members were extorting a Mexican dog sanctuary, threatening to kill all of their 20 dogs there if the sanctuary did not give them money. Eight dogs arrived on the East End, four arrived to Southampton’s shelter on Thursday. Layla, Chaparro, Tito and Abu will be available to adopt soon. (Southampton Patch)
  3. Westhampton Beach High School's Virtual Enterprise team, Opal, earned the number one spot at the VE National Business Plan Competition, outperforming 1,243 teams from across the United States. To participate, students create a business plan to market a business vision; the students compete and present their plans at several events and competitions throughout the year. (Patch)
  4. Long Island is dealing with dead zones from rust tides caused by high amounts of nitrogen, the solution is to upgrade septic systems to prevent leakage into the waterways. Stony Brook University scientist Christopher Gobler emphasized at his annual State of the Bays lecture last Wednesday that excessive nitrogen loading from wastewater is an ongoing threat for Long Island waters. In support our nations veterans, the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency will host its third annual Drive-thru Resource and Stand Down Event on Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the north parking lot of the H Lee Dennison Building located at 100 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge.
