Here are the top stories today in East Hampton:
- You're in luck, that is if you are an Amy Schumer fan. Schumer will perform for one night only in East Hampton at The Clubhouse on July 23. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to The Retreat, a local East End organization, whose mission is to provide safety, shelter, and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence." Tickets. (OK!)
- On Monday, the Shinnecock Bay and the efforts of Stony Brook University’s SoMAS were recognized with "The Hope Spot" a global recognition, by Mission Blue. Mission Blue, is "an international organization that supports the protection of oceans worldwide." (Southampton Patch)
- How much do you know about goats? Erin Burke, part-owner of Catapano's Dairy Farm in Peconic, had horses growing up in Alabama, not goats. Female goats give milk and if you love chevre, you are in luck, Catapano's Dairy Farm sells it by the bucket full. Goats are also good at clearing overgrown areas by munching it all up, including poison ivy! (News 12 New Jersey)
- The Riverhead’s Tri-Club Meeting and State of the Town address, sponsored by the Riverhead Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary Club, is rescheduled to Wednesday, June 29 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sea Star Ballroom at the Long Island Aquarium. The evening includes dinner, at a cost of $35. Registration is online here. (East End Beacon)
